OutbreakWatch

Privacy

OutbreakWatch is designed privacy-first. We collect the absolute minimum data needed to operate the site, and we never sell, share, or commercialize anything about you.

What we don't collect

What we do collect (minimal, anonymous)

Cloudflare server logs: when you visit the site, our hosting provider Cloudflare records standard request metadata (timestamp, IP address, user agent, referrer, requested URL) for security and performance reasons. These logs are aggregated and retained by Cloudflare for up to 30 days. We don't link them to anything else and we don't have a tool to look them up by IP. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Cloudflare Web Analytics (if enabled): a privacy-first analytics product that does NOT use cookies or fingerprint visitors. It produces aggregated counts of pageviews, top pages, and approximate country (from IP) — no individual user is identifiable. More info.

Third-party content we embed

We display data from public sources, fetched server-side and rendered as static HTML — your browser does not directly contact those sources from our pages:

Map tiles: when you load a page with a map, your browser fetches map tile images from CARTO (CDN: basemaps.cartocdn.com). CARTO may log the request as part of normal CDN operation. If this concerns you, the rest of the site works without enabling the map.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union and want to exercise rights under GDPR (access, deletion, portability), email privacy@outbreakwatch.net. Because we do not collect personal data linked to identifiable individuals, in practice there is little to access or delete — but we will respond to confirm.

Children

OutbreakWatch is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, with the date below. There is no email subscription, so check this page directly.
